Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of a proposed garage construction. A small trench revealed various types of post-medieval garden soil layers. At a depth of 1.2m, lighter soils were observed and were cut by a post-medieval pit. The great depth of garden soil may have been explained by the fact that this area had been incorporated into a large garden since at least the late 16th century. [Au(adp)] |
