Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a building extension. The site lay adjacent to the position where the Roman road which ran north-west from the fortress to Cataractonium (Catterick) was linked to one which passed the fortress to the south-west. Other Roman remains had also been previously discovered within the direct vicinity of the site. No archaeological evidence was found in the excavations other than modern dumps or levelling deposits.
