Abstract: |
Inspection of geotechnical trial pits and excavation of targeted trenches demonstrated that the paddock immediately south of the farm buildings encompassed peripheral archaeological features of the Chantry Fields medieval settlement complex. Though not investigated further here, the results of several campaigns of fieldwork across Chantry Fields since 1989 suggested that the features within the present site were of low archaeological potential. A medieval paddock boundary ditch was recorded. [Au(adp)] |
