Abstract: |
A flood alleviation scheme for the Perrancoombe Stream necessitated a desk-top historical and archaeological assessment. The aim of the assessment was to locate archaeological sites, historic buildings, sites of buildings and industrial features in order that the impact of the flood alleviation scheme on the historic environment could be assessed. The sites of Perran United Mine and Wheal Leisure were noted, one currently occupied by a playing field and tennis courts, the other, a housing development. A Grade II listed bridge was also noted, and despite not being directly in the line of the proposed scheme, it could be affected by construction traffic. [AIP] |
