Abstract: |
A site visit to Binner Downs in November 1996, provided an insight into the state of the mining landscape, three and a half years after shaft capping works were finished. It was noted that despite the creation of large circular formations around the shaft markers, the natural aesthetic look and feel of an old derelict mine landscape had, for the most part, been preserved. The restriction of access for site machinery to specific routes and not to carry out a landscaping scheme was applauded. [AIP] |
