Abstract: |
The site of the proposed dwelling lay within the southern ramparts of Vespasian's Camp, an Iron Age hillfort on the west side of Amesbury. However, the evaluation showed there to be some non-archaeological disturbance, including some of probable relatively recent date in the form of a service trench. The absence of archaeological features and artefacts suggested that the potential for survival of early deposits on the site is very low.[Au] |
