Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the construction of a French drain around a Grade II* Listed church. The exposed foundations were photographed and evidence of their construction was recorded. No burials or other features of archaeological interest were noted. However, the structural evidence revealed, and a re-examination of the surviving architectural fabric, allowed a tentative chronology for the development of the church to be postulated, which differed in some important respects from one suggested in 1992.
