Abstract: |
A watching brief was conducted during various groundworking operations in the grounds of the castle. Some archaeological deposits were recorded, including late medieval and Tudor cut features in the area of a new lake situated to the north of the castle approach road. It was thought that this could have formed a rubbish spread from the 16th century when the castle was in decline. [AIP] |
