Abstract: |
A small range of archaeological deposits was recorded, indicating a general sequence of activity across the site. The earliest feature found during the evaluation comprised an isolated Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age pit towards the north-west of the site, and three parallel ditches representing relict field systems of the 1st to 2nd century AD. There was no evidence of a battle period land-surface relating directly to the first Battle of Newbury. [Au(abr)] |
