Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of three houses, which lay within the area of an Iron Age hillfort which was a SAM. A modern linear feature and two water pipe trenches were revealed, and a layer containing 20th century material was noted. This was interpreted as a probable clearance level formed during the construction of the present building at the site. No evidence of ancient remains was observed. It was recommended that a watching brief should be carried out during ground disturbance associated with the development. [AIP] |
