A watching brief during the excavation of cable trenches for the connection of two street lamps revealed evidence for a three succesive street surfaces and a sandstone wall below the eastern side of Castle View, parallel to the late medieval western boundary wall of St Mary de Castr, which possibly represented either an earlier boundary or a building.
