Abstract: |
An evaluation took place in response to a proposed low cost housing scheme, involving piling and new construction. The site was known from early maps and records to have been a 'carriage manufactory'. Test pit one revealed a Late Saxon floor, pottery and crucible fragments which would indicate metal working. This was sealed by a metalled surface. Test pit two uncovered only made ground. [AIP] |
