Abstract: |
The Scarborough Archaeological and Historical Society undertook excavations on the site between December 1996 and January 1998. The results of these investigations revealed the best preserved medieval remains in Scarborough. These included part of St. Sepulchre Church which was demolished in the 16th century. Extensive waterlogged deposits and a well built masonary culvert were also found in association with a medieval stream. The overall view was that this was a very important site and merited long term preservation. [Au (abr)] |
