Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of an extension at the Jubilee Hall. Numerous discoveries of prehistoric flints, stone axes, urns and Roman kilns had been made previously within 500 metres of the site. The site also lay in the centre of the medieval settlement and about 300 metres from the village church which was of 12th century date. The watching brief revealed the remains of a number of brick walls which constituted the remains of a former school that stood on the property. [Au] |
