Abstract:		 <summary>A desk-based assessment was undertaken to outline the archaeological implications of a programme of mine-shaft capping involving mine-shafts at 15 mines spread widely across the district of Kerrier. Of the 28 shafts identified, six were found to have engine-houses, with seven others having remains of other shaft-head structures. Remains of early surface mining were also identified at four of the shafts. {italon}AIP{italoff}
