Abstract: |
In 2004 English Heritage became aware of substantial damage being caused by badgers on the bowl barrows known as 'Lords' Burgh' at Firle. This prompted a program of works to remove the badgers and restore the barrows to their former condition. An archaeological watching brief was maintained during these works. Unfortunately the removal of the badgers proved unsuccessful at the first attempt, but it was possible to consolidate the damage already caused and recover archaeological material from the upcast of the set.
