Abstract: |
The evaluation encountered two features producing prehistoric pottery suggesting the existence of a settlement on or close to the present site. The significance of this material was enhanced by the number of adjacent sites producing evidence for Late Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman occupation. The majority of features and stratified finds suggest that, succeeding this prehistoric activity, there was little evidence for land-use until the creation of the orchard, perhaps during the last century.[Au(abr)] |
