Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the area in and surrounding Bawtry contains remains of extensive late prehistoric and early Roman field systems and settlements, as well as later Roman forts and the line of a major Roman Road. It has also identified that Bawtry was an important medieval inland port and planned town, with churches, chapels and a hospital. [Au(abr)] |
