Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken to record the archaeological impact of a 3km long water main passing through some of the most historic mining complexes in Cornwall. No prehistoric or medieval activity was observed. To the south of Boscarn Parc structures related to the 19th century and early 20th century tin processing works were revealed, while to the north east and south west the ground showed evidence of mining activity accompanied by later episodes of massive landscaping and land reclamation.
