Abstract: |
<summary>An archaeological assessment was undertaken of potential development of an area to the east of the Scheduled Ancient Monument representing the Roman town of {italon}Magnis{italoff} (HWCM121; Here & Worc County Monument No 29), just to the south of Kenchester. There is substantial potential for the presence of significant prehistoric and Roman sites throughout the study area, as the known extra-mural areas of a Romano-British town form a major part of the study area. Should plans for development proceed, the need for archaeological evaluation in advance of a proposal to extract gravel anywhere within the study area is stressed. {italon}Au(?abr){italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} HWCM784, 785, 1731, 6883, 11129, 11130, 12214 |
