Abstract: |
A survey of the earthworks in Saltings Field, Upper Beeding was undertaken whilst proposals to construct housing on part of the land were considered. The most common earthworks to be found on the floodplain of the Adur are salt-making mounds, and that is what the earthworks on the site proved to be. It was thought that they dated from either the Late Saxon or the later medieval periods. [AIP] |
