Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches were excavated at the site. A dense sequence of occupation spanning early/middle Saxon period to the medieval period were encountered. The early period deposits contained evidence of intense activity including metal working and fishing industry by-products. The site was formerly developed by the 13th-14th century (evidenced by a sequence of stone/flint building structures). The site was truncated into the 16th-17th century and again in the 18th-19th century. [Au(adp)] |
