Abstract: |
An initial desktop assessment and aerial photographic survey was undertaken which was followed by an intrusive evaluation to determine the presence and extent of surviving archaeological remains. Five trenches were excavated and revealed only two features: a ditch running approximately northeast-southwest and a large pit immediately to its south. No artefacts were recovered from the features, although they were sealed by undisturbed colluvium which may hav had its origins in a phase of Neolithic tree clearance. A prehistoric date for these features was therefore suggested. [Au] |
