Abstract: |
A watching brief on two trenches excavated at the site identified structural remains of a stone built medieval building. This building was outside the gate of the castle, next to Bishop Dyke. One theory was that the structure was connected with the transport of goods on Bishop Dyke. Part of the masonry was reused in the construction of a 19th century cottage. [Au(abr)] |
