Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in order to see whether the reduction of the ground level to facilitate level access into a proposed new meeting hall would disturb any archaeological deposits. Articulated human skeletons were found at the north and south ends of the trench, they appeared to represent uncoffined burials. This evidence and the lack of post-medieval artefacts in the soil suggested that the burials were medieval. The level at which the burials occurred suggested that any great reduction in ground level would disturb buried human remains. [Au(abr)] |
