Abstract: |
The evaluation identified a low density of archaeological features in the area, those observed being towards the west of the paddock, close to the site currently under investigation. The absence of features to the east was predictable given the proximity of Plenty Brook and the marshy nature of the ground. The current investigations immediately to the west of the paddock revealed several large ditches sharing the same north-south alignment against the east limit of the excavation. The density of the features observed was consistent with the area being outside the main area of settlement activity.[Au(abr)] |
