Abstract: |
33 artefacts were recovered from three contexts within the castle complex including 20 animal bones (mostly sheep and the occasional bird), 7 sherds of 19th and 20th century pottery, 2 sherds of 19th century pottery, 1 clay pipe stem fragment, 1 clay pipe bowl, and 1 small iron object. Outside of the castle two phases of landscaping were evidences by two main layers of built ground. Two stone drains were revealed; one of which was contemporary with the earlier phase of landscaping works and possibly early post-medieval in date. [Au(abr)] |
