Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of a proposed new house development. The site lay in an archaeological priority area and had low to moderate potential to contain in situ, scatters of prehistoric flint tools. There was a moderate to high potential to contain Romano-British features related to the occupation of the villa (SAM 22039, c.50m south-west of the site) and/or evidence for the development of the settlement of Carisbrooke in the medieval and post-medieval periods.
