Abstract: |
The site was situated on the eastern boundary of the former precinct of St. Neots Priory and a little way to the north-east of the medieval Market Square. Significant Anglo-Saxon and Roman remains were known from the vicinity, as well as a number of prehistoric finds. Surviving post-medieval buildings around the Market Square testified to the commercial success of the town in the 17th and 18th centuries. [Au(adp)] |
