Abstract:

A desk-top assessment of three proposed housing development sites was undertaken. Two possible bronze age artefacts had been found in the surrounding area, and a Roman settlement lay nearby. Lime-kilns had been established in the area by the mid-14th century. Part of a rope walk used in the manufacture of cordage lay on Site A in the 18th century. It was concluded that limited evaluations would be necessary on Sites A and B. [AIP]
