Abstract: |
Nine trenches were excavated at the site, and discovered a metalled road in context with Roman artefacts. The metalling coincided with the suggested route of the Roman road indicated by documentary and landscape evidence and was interpreted to be such. This road was thought to have continued usage through the medieval period when it may have become a hollow way. A probable Roman double ditch and a narrow linear feature of unknown date were also recorded. [Au(adp)] |
