Abstract: |
The absence of archaeological features in the form of field boundary ditches, pits and banks may have much to do with the difficulty of working the underlying geology for arable farming. The wet nature of the immedieate area may also have been detrimental to the building of settlements. However, whether this was typical of the surrounding area as a whole was difficult to judge.
