Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a north to south property boundary, appearing initially as a wall footing, and may have represented the eastern limit of the churchyard, possibly established following its eastward extension. Mortared flint and brick structures (a north-to-south drain and walls) of late medieval date appeared to respect this boundary, suggesting that they were associated with the church. An important group of twelve lead seals for textiles, dating to the period 1575-1659, was recovered from river silt deposits in trench 2 by metal detecting. [Au(abr)] |
