Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of two trial trenches. The earliest archaeological feature encountered during the evaluation was revealed in trench 2 and consisted of a boundary ditch dating to the 12th or 13th century, the alignment of which dictated the location of subsequent early post-medieval structures. Trench 1 contained a medieval pit, which was covered over by a rough cobble and pebble surface. Both trenches showed considerable dumping in post-medieval and modern times. [Au(abr)] |
