Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken on the excavation of a lift pit. Most of the features exposed were of 19th and 20th century date, but a limited exposure of natural gravels (cut by a possible truncated pit of medieval or post-medieval date) was recorded in the northern section of the trench. It was considered unlikely from the results of the watching brief that horizontal archaeological strata would have survived elsewhere on the site, and only deep intrusions would remain. [Au(abr)] |
