Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundations for a club house at a golf course. Earlier fieldwalking in the vicinity had recorded a concentration of medieval pottery and a small scatter of Iron Age pottery. During the watching brief, a pond or quarry feature of unknown date was identified. Due to the presence of unstable ground, it was proposed to use raft foundations over the pond, within the original floor plan of the club house. It was therefore concluded that no further archaeological work would be necessary. [Au(adp)] |
