Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during initial groundworks associated with the development of the site. No evidence for any human occupation or activity was found in the part of the site that was examined. One small piece of pottery, possibly of prehistoric date, was found towards the west end, in association with an apparent natural channel. The east end of the site had previously been disturbed by farm buildings and other structures and ponds, possibly associated with an adjacent former brickyard. The results of the watching brief suggested that the archaeological potential for the remaining undisturbed parts of the development site would be low. [Au(abr)] |
