An archaeological excavation was carried out on the site. The southern excavation area uncovered a ditch and pit of Late Iron Age date. The pit had previously been identified in an earlier evaluation. The north-eastern excavation area uncovered Bronze Age pits, a Late Iron Age roundhouse and a Late Iron Age drainage ditch.
