Abstract: |
Three trial trenches were excavated across the site, but no significant archaeological remains were present. The evaluation revealed that any archaeological remains had probably been truncated during the construction of a trolley bus depot and court building on the site, during the 20th century. A single-post-medieval wall was present and the trenches showed that the majority of the site contained spreads of modern industrial waste and building debris. In the light of revised understanding of the archaeological potential of the site the report concluded that the archaeological impact of the proposed redevelopment was negligible. [Au(abr)] |
