Abstract:
An evaluation ahead of a housing development was undertaken as recommended in an earlier assessment of the site. The land had previously been a hospital and evaluation was confined to two areas where disturbance by the earlier hospital buildings had not occurred. Nothing of archaeological interest was discovered during the evaluation and no further archaeological work was recommended in these areas. A watching brief over development work on the remainder of the site was recommended, although the hospital buildings were likely to have destroyed any archaeology which might have existed. [AIP]
