Abstract: |
A desktop study of a site at 27-47 London Road, Twyford examined a number of sources with which to consider the archaeological potential of the site. The site lay within the Loddon Valley, considered to be a zone of archaeological potential, with the possibility that sites of earlier periods could be present. The site also lay on the fringes of the historic core of Twyford and there was the possibility of medieval features surviving. A Grade II Listed Building, 27-29 London Road, formerly Apsley House stood on part of the site and was one of several properties that were to be retained if development went ahead. [Au(adp)] |
