Abstract: |
Three continuous trenches were excavated at the site prior to its redevelopment in order to ascertain the presence/absence of the London to Portslade Roman road. Evidence of a possible former field boundary ditch of later18th-19th century date and a possible pond provide evidence of the earlier agricultural land use at the site. A robbed out wall foundation and map evidence indicates that the current building at Beech Hurst Gardens has undergone several changes. [Au(abr)] |
