Abstract: |
A desk-based study to assess the archaeological implications of a proposed road bypass scheme at Averham identified that the scheme would affect ten sites. Most of the sites were identified as being of only local importance on which the scheme would have negligable impact, although four were identified as being worthy of further assessment. These comprised an area of crofting cropmarks and parallel ditches;Pingley Bridge; a further area of cropmarks; and a findspot of artefacts of Palaeolithic and Bronze Age date. [AIP] |
