Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out in the yard to the rear of 136 Lawrence Street. It was undertaken to record eleven human burials which had been revealed during the excavation of a service trench. The burials were thought to have been within the graveyard of St. Nicholas' Church which was in use from the 12th century until c.1644. The lack of secure dating evidence from any of the burials placed them at some period within this date range. [Au(abr)] |
