Abstract: |
The watching brief demonstrated that beyond the limits of the modern petrol tanks and basement of Burlington Hotel, this area contained an undisturbed, thick, highly complex sequence of archaeological deposits. The bulk of the deposits revealed seemed to relate to an important sequence of medieval timber buildings and their associated roads and pathways. Subsequent, later medieval and early post-medieval stone buildings had survived above these. [Au(adp)] |
