Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken on an area of land on the western slope of Byker Hill. The site was believed to lie close to, or possibly over, the course of Hadrian's Wall. Documentary and cartographic research proved that the study area most probably contained well preserved remains of Hadrian's Wall, its ditch and Military Way. It was recommended that an archaeological evaluation excavation was conducted. [AIP] |
