Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment of a proposed redevelopment site was carried out. No remains had been recorded on the site itself, but the adjacent lane was known to have been in use in the late Saxon period. Prehistoric and Roman finds had been recorded in the surrounding area, and evidence for Roman pottery manufacture had been excavated nearby. It was concluded that the site did not have a high potential and that there was no necessity for an evaluation at that time. It was suggested, however, that trial pits may later be advisable.[AIP] |
