Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment of the proposed site of a retail store identified that five post-medieval Listed Buidings lay in the immediate vicinity, and that several nearby sites had been recorded in the SMR. Documentary evidence indicated that the proposal site lay on or close to the location of the medieval Over Manor of Daventry. No evidence survived for the layout or composition of the manor complex, or of any putative Saxon predecessor. [Au(adp)] |
