Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a dwelling within Milborne Port, a town with late Saxon origins. Recent archaeological work in the town had revealed significant deposits of Saxon and later medieval date. During the evaluation, a ditch containing medieval pottery was recorded. This feature was cut through a basal subsoil deposit which contained medieval pottery, thought to be of late 12th-13th century date. Five sherds of post-medieval or modern pottery were also recovered. [AIP] |
