Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of a pipe trench, which passed close to a site where archaeological features had been recorded. These had included late medieval waster dumps, which suggested that a kiln or kilns may have lain in the area. During the watching brief, no archaeological features were observed, although a small concentration of late medieval pottery sherds was identified. The material was of a similar type to that discovered nearby, and may well have originated from the same local source. [Au(abr)] |
